Super Back to the Future II for Super Famicom

Famicom Fighters is the best fighting game you’re not playing. That’s a big statement to make with all the fan games out there, but I’m sticking to it.

Famicom Fighters is a traditional tournament fighter with a roster from gaming’s golden age. The concept is nothing new, especially if you grew up with sites like Newgrounds but Famicom Fighters is so well done, it’s almost suspicious that this is a fan project. Like if you had told me that a professional team had worked on this but was never released due to X reason, I’d believe you.

Every character is full of detail with fluid animations and appropriated sound effects from their respective games. Stages are iconic backdrops from various games with Easter-eggs and familiar characters that feel right at home in any classic fighting game.

Gameplay is solid. If you’re comfortable with Street Fighter’s control scheme, you’ll be just fine. Specials, assist characters are all a blast to use. I’ve spent some time with this and have yet to have any technical problems or run into any bugs.

I could go on, but don’t take my word for it, download it here. It’s 100% free, easy to install and open.
